Sorry to have taken so long to respond because I have been waiting for some events to unfold. I am sorry to say that I'll not be able to come to the meeting in Ischia. The main reason is that there is a funding crisis developing in my laboratory, which will need my immediate attention during the middle of October. Therefore, I have decided to stay and not to go anywhere during that time.

The e-mail letter from Vecchia is actually annoying because it seems to discourage scientific discussion. I also later discovered that he published paper with Ken Foster and Michael Replocholi.
